MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) - Alabama is another step closer to banning text messaging while driving.
The Senate Judiciary Committee approved a ban Wednesday; it passed the house in January.
The committee made some changes in the bill. The revised bill still makes it illegal to text message while driving, but it requires that a motorist be committing some other offense before police can stop the vehicle.
