Suspect charged in bank robbery

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A man has been arrested in connection with a January bank robbery.

Birmingham Police said Aaron Earl Thomas, 32, of Birmingham, is charged with the robbery of the BB&T Bank on Red Lane Road. The incident happened at approximately 3:30 p.m. on January 15, 2010.

Police investigators, in a news release to FOX6 News in January, said two suspects attempted to rob the bank. One suspect approached the teller with a handgun and a bag, ordering the teller to fill the bag with money.  However, before the clerk could take the bag, police said the suspects fled the bank on foot.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.
