Walker County Sheriff calls latest murder case 'heinous'

WALKER COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Two men are facing charges after a man's body was found dismembered.

The Walker County Sheriff calls the homicide a heinous crime.

Law enforcement believe two men killed an acquaintance during a dispute, then dismembered, hid, and spread his body parts.

James David Hollie, 32, and Brian Michael Smelley, 39, are being held on charges of murder and robbery.

Investigators found parts of 63-year-old Richard Douglas Harris' dismembered body Friday.

Walker County Sheriff John Mark Tirey says Harris was shot at a flea market in Boldo. He believes the shooting could be over a dispute involving hand tools.
