PELHAM, AL (WBRC) - The man accused of killing a Pelham police officer is scheduled to appear in court today.
Bart Wayne Johnson, 29, faces two counts of capital murder in the shooting death of officer Philip Davis. One count alleges the death of a police officer by using a gun, the other alleges Johnson fatally shot someone from an occupied vehicle.
The shooting happened Dec. 3, 2009, during a traffic stop on Interstate 65.

The principal of Hanceville High School in Cullman County is not wanting to take any chances after a recent school shooting in Florida.
