Montgomery law firm files class-action suit against Toyota

MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) - A Montgomery law firm has filed a class action lawsuit against Toyota on behalf of over 5 million Toyota owners.  The complaint charges Toyota with breach of warranty and fraudulent concealment among other things.

The suit comes as several local dealerships being receiving and installing the replacement parts needed to fix gas pedals that have been known to stick.  Limbaugh Toyota in Birmingham received one hundred replacement parts on Wednesday and another one hundred parts on Thursday.  They will start placing them in customer's cars on Friday, but wanted to begin on their own used car and rental fleet.

"This is a process," says owner, Bruce Limbaugh.  "Something we haven't done before.  On the first vehicles, heaven forbid, we make a mistake.  Let's make that mistake on ours, not the customers."

Limbaugh says both national and regional Toyota officials have helped his technicians train on making the repairs.

Starting Monday, the store will offer extended hours to repair customer's vehicles.

"We know there are lots of orphan owners out there...folks who bought them used or from dealerships out of the area.   We'd be more than happy for them to contact us and let us make appointments," Limbaugh says.
