I believe it's absolutely essential for everyone to have quiet time. My wife has her quiet time in the evening, when she relaxes in the tub,to reflect on whatever it is she needs to deal with. My personal time is spent in the car every morning as I leave my home, because this is the time I spend praying. After I finish with my personal time with the Good Lord,I ask him to take care of the numerous needs around the world, such as the Haiti tragedy,or the famine conditions in Africa, and so forth. This is a time when there are no interruptions from a phone call,a radio or television, etc. I know I feel so much better and more relaxed, because I took some personal, quiet time, for me.

Silence is golden and so many times through our lives we just hear noise constantly and never really take the time to really reflect on those things that are really most important to us. Once we have that silent time, we are always surprised.
Funny that you mention that because I think that silence is golden, every now and then its good to be away from noise. Turn the radio off, tv cell phone or whatever an just read or relax, which is hard to do with people calling or stopping by to ask for this and that,a person needs a little time each day for themselves.
