Chef Bob's brownies


Chef Bob

1 1/2 sticks butter

1 c. semi-sweet choc chips

1 c. white sugar

1 c. brown sugar

1 1/3 c. plain flour

1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. baking powder

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

4 eggs

pecans optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In a heavy pot, melt butter & chocolate together (or in microwave)  Sift flour, salt, baking powder.  Add to chocolate & butter mixture.  Stir, cooking 1-2 min.  Add vanilla & eggs.  Beat by hand for 1 min.  Spoon into buttered baking dish.  Bake at 325 degrees for 30 min.  Ice with chocolate icing.  Add pecans if desired.

Chocolate icing--

1/2 c. heavy cream

1 c. chocolate chips

Bring heavy cream to a boil.  Add chips & stir until smooth.  Cool to room temperature.
