BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Three people have been arrested in connection with the embezzlement of a trucking company.

The Identity Theft unit of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department announced the arrests Monday.  Investigators said it began an investigation in December into a group of people who they said embezzled more than $200,000 from a trucking company through a scheme perpetrated by an employee and two other people.

Arrested were:

Brian Scott Goodwin, 29, of Graysville
Kimberly Marie Bagley, 22, of Warrior
Lori Juleigh Barry, 23, of Hueytown

Investigators said Barry, the employee, provided account numbers and authorization numbers for electronic transfer of funds that were then cashed by Bagley and Goodwin at local truck stops and check-cashing facilities.  Barry then altered the records to show the funds went to other employees.

Investigators said the scheme continued for more than six months until it was discovered.  All of the money had been spent by the time the arrests were made in January.

Bagley and Goodwin were being held on $30,000 bond. Barry was being held on $5,000 bond. Investigators said the investigation was ongoing and more warrants may be obtained against other offenders.

The investigation is still ongoing. Additional warrants could possibly be obtained for other offenders.
