BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – The Birmingham Police Department says that a Birmingham man was killed in a hit and run while he attempted to cross Interstate 59 on Thursday night.
54-year-old Curtis Davenport was struck and killed around 9:35 p.m. Investigators say he was crossing the interstate on foot when a dark colored Honda SUV struck the victim and never slowed down or stopped.
Birmingham Rescue and Fire declared Davenport dead on the scene.
The suspect vehicle is believed to have damage to the front end as well as the side.
