Lawsuit filed over fatal motel fire

HOOVER, AL (WBRC) - The families of two of the young girls killed in a motel fire in Hoover have filed a lawsuit in the case.

The parents of Alondan Turner and Catherine Muse are suing the owners of the Days Inn along with 55-year-old Dhirajlal Bagot who was the maintenance worker on duty at the time of the fire.

Bagot told authorities he left incense burning on his shrine, which included a prayer rug.

The lawsuit alleges Bagot and the motel owners caused or contributed to the deaths of the four teenage victims.
