Bowling event will help to pay slain officer's mortgage

PELHAM, AL (WBRC) - A bowling event to benefit the family of Pelham Police Officer Philip Davis will be held on Monday. Officer Davis was shot and killed in Pelham during a traffic stop on December 4th of last year.

Oak Mountain Lanes will host an event Monday from 3-9 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Davis Mortgage Retirement Fund. Several other businesses have also committed to the fund. The goal is to raise $200,000.

Here are the upcoming restaurants that will be helping the retirement fund:

Golden Corral - $2 donated for each ticket redeemed from Oak   Mountain Event

Saturday 1/30              Applebee's  Pancake Breakfast 7:30am-10am, $5 tickets
Margartia Grill 10% of sales from 5pm-9pm
Sunday 1/31                 Johnny Ray's  (Hwy 31) 10% of Sales
