Wild weather sweeps through Alabama

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - The thunderstorms that moved across much of north-central Alabama on Sunday caused some damage and flooding.

A tree fell across a car in Huffman, Sunday morning. No one was in the car at the time, but the tree did block the road and tear down power lines.

There were also reports of flooding. The National Weather Service says several streets in Birmingham and in the Center Point area were under water.

People in Huntsville spent the weekend cleaning up following Thursday's tornado.  The National Weather Service says the twister was an EF-2 with winds reaching 135 miles per hour. Several homes have roof damage. No one was seriously hurt.
