MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) - State lawmakers will take a second day to debate a one billion dollar road and bridge building bill.
On Tuesday, the State Senate voted to begin discussion on the bill sponsored by Fyffe Democrat Lowell Barron. The plan would take $100-million per year from the Alabama trust fund.
Senator Barron says his proposed bill would create 30,000 jobs.
Republicans argue now is not the time to spend money from the state's savings account.
