Editorial: Education vs. Going Pro

The following is comments about an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, which first aired on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.

I want to give my opinion on the Rolando McClain thing. I think he should go and make a million dollars if he wants to. He can come back and get a degree but he can't go out and make that much money with a degree right away.

And I was just wanting to comment on the ball players that are moving, trying out for the pros from Alabama. That should not be allowed.  They have been given, most have been given scholarships to even attend the college and they should have to stay their full four years. And I don't think that they gain anything by leaving that fast. They should worry more about an education. That's going to be useful to them for a lot of years than a pro football thing that might just give out and what you know you might be hurt and might not work one or two years.

Heath from Tuscaloosa
I believe that football players should go through with their education cause anything could happen within the draft or in their season of playing, they could be hurt. then what would they have to fall back on?
