MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) - In the Senate, a committee is delaying action on a bill to fund the state prepaid college tuition program.
Auburn Democrat Ted Little's bill would pump $236 million into the PACT Program over several years to keep it solvent.
The Senate's fiscal responsibility and accountability committee was set to take up the bill Wednesday, but delayed consideration for a week.
The Alabama Education Association requested a public hearing on the bill. The hearing is set for next Wednesday.
