Plenty of places to watch Tide and 'Horns

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - If you don't have a ticket to the game but want to enjoy the game with a crowd, there are plenty of options in the Birmingham area.

A routine Thursday night at The Stardome in Hoover would normally mean a headlining comedian and a crowd dressed for the club scene. But on this Thursday night, it'll be crimson jerseys and the main attraction is big HD-projection screens.

"If you wanna feel like you're at the games, look at those big screens, Hi-Def., great sound, great crowd, this is the place to watch that Alabama game," said Stardome owner Bruce Ayers.

The Stardome will open at 6pm with no cover charge come snow, ice, or anything else.

"If it snows, a lot of people will probably stay home, let's be honest," Ayers said. "They'll be at the grocery store, filling up. But if it snows, we're gonna be here, and we want you to come watch Alabama win the national championship."

At WorkPlay in downtown Birmingham, doors will also open at 6pm with no cover and the promise that you won't miss a minute of the 'Bama-Texas battle.

"We've got the game on 3 different flat screens as well in the bar area so no matter where you are, you'll be taken care of in terms of not missing the action," Todd Coder of WorkPlay said.

"We'll have service staff in here so you will literally not have to leave your seat the entire time you're here."

If you want to watch the Tide roll and help a good cause, United Cerebal Palsy of West Alabama is sponsoring a watch party at the Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa. The doors open at 5:30pm and for $12 a person you'll enjoy the game with about 1,000 friends.
