Jefferson County Commission to vote on hiring lobbyist

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) – In Wednesday's finance committee meeting for the Jefferson County Commission, it was revealed that the Commission plans to vote on whether or not they will hire a lobbyist to represent the County.

The County would be hiring the firm of Lt. Governor Jim Folsom's brother-in-law, John Guthrie, Jr. Guthrie's firm would represent the County for 12 months at a total of $120,000.

Commission President Bettye Fine Collins says that county finances are improving, but thinks she will have a better picture in a week.
