Police say burglary suspect attempted to run over officer

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham police catch one burglary suspect and are looking for another they say tried to run over an officer. It happened Tuesday morning on Clairmont Avenue in east Birmingham.
Police got a call on the burglary and when they arrived, the front door to a home was kicked open and a truck in the driveway was attempting to pull out.  One officer tried to get the vehicle to stop.

"When he tried to stop the vehicle the vehicle attempted to run him over," says Sergeant Johnny Williams with the Birmingham Police Department. "He drew his weapon, fired shots at the vehicle and the vehicle left the scene. We are in the process of trying to find that car."

Officers did take one suspect into custody who was still inside the home when they got there. They are now looking for a silver Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with a possible shattered window.
