BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham City Council Member Maxine Parker will hold a meeting to discuss future plans for the old Carraway Medical Center building. It begins at eight Tuesday morning at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Elected leaders will take part in the gathering.
Last week, Governor Riley announced Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa will not be moving to the Carraway site. State Representative John Rogers, a Birmingham Democrat, says the governor has pledged to find another option.
Residents in the area say they would like to find something to fill the empty building.
