Judge rules Jefferson County must repay taxpayers

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A circuit court judge has ruled in the ongoing case surrounding Jefferson County's occupational tax.

Judge David Rains orders the county to repay almost $50 million dollars to workers who were charged an occupational tax.

In the ruling's conclusion, the judge says Jefferson County must make the necessary transfer to the settlement fund within 15 days.
