ESCAMBIA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Governor Bob Riley is visiting areas of south Alabama that were hit hard by flooding earlier this week. He is scheduled to meet with officials in Escambia County Friday afternoon.
A number of homes and businesses sustained damage from the heavy rainfall.
On Wednesday, Governor Riley declared a state of emergency in Escambia, Dale, Crenshaw and Covington Counties because of flooding and severe weather.
Authorities say a Huffman HS student who was shot in the head at Inglenook Rec Center has died.
