Alabama football: Mark Ingram wins Heisman Trophy

NEW YORK, NY (WBRC) - Alabama running back Mark Ingram won the Heisman trophy award Saturday night, claiming college football's top honor.

Ingram won the award during a ceremony presentation Saturday night in New York City.

Ingram, a sophomore running back for the Alabama Crimson Tide, was voted the winner above Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, Stanford running back Tony Gerhart, and Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Ingram, a sophomore, rushed for 1,542 yards this season, an Alabama record, and 15 touchdowns.
