BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - With only a limited time to campaign, many of the 14 Birmingham mayoral candidates took advantage of debates or forums to reach out to voters. Organizers say it was important for them to give voters a chance to hear from the candidates.
UAB Communications Professor Dr. Larry Powell says with so many people running and a short campaign window, candidates have some challenges to overcome. Dr. Powell says voter turnout will also be a big factor. Many voters say they have already decided who they will vote for and hope this election puts the city back on track.
Now all candidates can do is hope that they have done enough to convince voters to get out to the polls Tuesday.
