Ensley man charged with trafficking $30 million in drugs

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A federal grand jury has indicted a Birmingham man on drug trafficking and weapons charges.

U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance, in a statement Wednesday to FOX6 News, said Milton Kennard Whitlow, 40, of Ensley, was indicted Tuesday on charges in connection to the seizure of more than 30 kilograms fo cocaine and nine guns at an Ensley residence on Nov. 9.  Authorities said the street value of the drugs was more than $30 million.

Vance said Whitlow is charged with one count of possessing, with intent to distribute, more than five kilograms of powder cocaine, and possessing the nine firearms in association with drug trafficking.

Vance said the guns illegally in Whitlow's possession, according to the indictment, were: a Bushmaster .223-caliber rifle, a Century International Arms 7.62 millimeter pistol, a General Motors .30-caliber rifle, a Charles Daly 12-gauge shotgun, a Remington 30.06-caliber rifle, a Colt Army Special .38-caliber pistol, a Colt Detective Special .38-caliber pistol, an Intertech 9 millimeter pistol and a Cobray 9 millimeter pistol.
