ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - In east Alabama, authorities continue their undercover drug sweep.
The Etowah County Sheriff's Department started just before dawn Tuesday, serving warrants and indictments and arresting dozens of people. Deputies say most of those arrested face drug charges and many are repeat offenders.
The sheriff hopes the operation sends a message. "If you're selling drugs in the county, you're going to get arrested. I mean, we're out today, you know, we're rounding them up today. But we've been out last week making buys, too," says Sheriff Todd Entrekin. "So if we don't get you this time, be looking in the next three or four months, we'll be back."
In all, authorities say they plan to serve about 200 warrants.
