Arrest made in Blount County fire

ONEONTA, AL (WBRC) - Authorities have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in his burned home on Thanksgiving Day.

Blount County Sheriff Loyd Arrington, in a statement Tuesday to FOX6 News, said Thomas Doyle Crowe, 31, of Blount County and Toni Michelle Collins, 33, of Marshall County, had been arrested and charged with capital murder.  Sheriff Arrington said authorities made the arrests after investigators determined Marvin Allen Daily, 71, did not die as a result of the fire that engulfed a portion of his home on County Road 29 in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving day.

Sheriff Arrington said no further arrests were anticipated.

Crowe and Collins were in the Blount County jail.
