County vehicles burglarized, stolen

FULTONDALE, AL (WBRC) - Authorities continued to search Tuesday for two vehicles that were stolen from a Jefferson County facility Sunday night and look for clues as to who broke into 10 others.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, in a statement Tuesday to FOX6 News, said Fultondale police discovered a gate down Sunday night at the county's General Services Facility on Medco Drive.  Officers discovered nine vehicles which had been burglarized and three more were missing.

Investigators said the gate had been taken off of its hinges.

One of the vehicles was found Monday in the Cahaba Heights area with a set of keys that belonged to another one of the stolen vehicles.
