Sentencing rescheduled for Blount, LaPierre

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Sentencing for lobbyist Al LaPierre and Montgomery businessman Bill Blount has been rescheduled.

In a statement to FOX6 News, the federal court system says LaPierre and Blount will be sentenced on Thursday, January 21, 2010, in federal court in Tuscaloosa.

Both men plead guilty to charges earlier this year in connection with the bribery and conspiracy case against former Birmingham mayor Larry Langford.
