New sentencing date for Lapierre and Blount

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A new sentencing date for Montgomery investment banker Bill Blount and lobbyist Al Lapierre. Both men will be sentenced on corruption charges January 20th. The original sentencing date was January 7th.]

Both men pled guilty to charges of bribing former Birmingham mayor Larry Langford with money and gifts so Blount could receive millions of dollars in sewer bond work. Langford was convicted in October and plans to appeal.
