VESTAVIA HILLS, AL (WBRC) - A pair of alleged thieves were arrested after someone spotted them in action and called police.
They're accused of burglarizing three homes in a Vestavia Hills neighborhood Monday.
Police arrested two men. They are 20 year-old Jeremy Bailey and 19 year-old Jeremy Turner.
The alleged thieves didn't strike at night but at 8 am.
Vestavia Hills Police Chief Butch Wilson says thieves feel morning is a better time to strike because most people are at work.
We spoke to one of the burglary victims who didn't want to be identified. He's considering getting an alarm system.
"Just the fact the times are making people more desperate and willing to take chances, I think they otherwise wouldn't take," said the burglary victim.
"Our officers have been on high alert. They've been more visible, concentrating in neighborhoods. Additional people were able to respond quick to make an arrest," said Vestavia Hills Police Chief Butch Wilson.
There has been a string of burglaries recently in Vestavia Hills.
