Samford University offering new look at Milky Way

HOMEWOOD, AL (WBRC) - Samford University plans to unveil new images of the Milky Way's core on Tuesday to the public.

The images come from three NASA observatories; the Hubble Space Telescope, the Spitzer Space Telescope and the Chandra X-ray Observatory.

The Samford planetarium is one of three sites in Alabama, and one of 152 locations nationwide, chosen by NASA to display the images.

They will remain on view at the planetarium indefinitely.

The unveiling will begin at 6:30 p.m.
