Huntsville man sentenced to 17 years for child pornography charges

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WBRC) – A Huntsville man has received a 17 ½ year sentence in relation to charges of possession, receiving and transporting child pornography.

U.S. District Judge David Proctor handed down the sentence to Reuben Eugene Ferguson on Thursday.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says the 65-year-old Ferguson had downloaded and uploaded thousands of images of child pornography from the internet.

Judge Proctor says the amount and variety of the images were factors in determining Ferguson's sentence.

Ferguson was also fined $20,000, ordered to forfeit his computer and will remain on supervised release after he serves his prison sentence.
