Prosecutors make recommendation for Buckelew's sentence

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Fformer Jefferson County commissioner Mary Buckelew could get six months in prison for obstruction of justice. Today federal prosecutors asked for a six month sentence and $30 thousand dollar fine for Buckelew, who admitted lying to a grand jury investigating county bond deals.

Buckelew pled guilty and cooperated in the investigation of former commissioner and Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford, who was recently convicted on corruption charges. Sentencing is Thursday.
