IRS trying to get refunds to Alabamians

MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) - The IRS is trying to deliver almost two million dollars to Alabamians it cannot locate.

A spokesman says the tax agency has refund checks that were returned by the postal service due to errors in mailing addresses.

The average size of the checks is almost $1,200.

Taxpayers who have not received their refunds from their 2008 tax returns should update their address.

The checks will be re-sent.
