Suspect charged in Tuesday murder

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham police said Friday a suspect had been charged in connection with a murder on Tuesday.

Police, in a statement to FOX6 News, said Natalya McArthur, 25, of Birmingham, had been arrested for the murder of Tiffany Edwards, 19, of Village Court West in Birmingham.

Officers found Edwards Tuesday evening lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Witnesses said the suspect and the victim's family had been in a fight prior to the shooting.

Edwards died at the hospital later Tuesday night.  McArthur was taken into custody and was being held Friday afternoon in the Jefferson County jail on $75,000 bond.
