Dr. John Nall passes away

HOMEWOOD, AL (WBRC) - Dr. John Nall, a longtime veternarian in Homewood, has passed away.

Amanda Smeraglia, head recepitionist for Nall Daniels Animal Hospital, said Dr. Nall passed away late Thursday night after complications from cancer.

Dr. Nall had operated the animal hospital for more than 30 years. Smeraglia said he also did lots of work for the Birmingham Zoo, the Greater Birmingham Humane Society and other organizations.

Smeraglia said Dr. Nall's funeral is tentatively set for Sunday, October 18, at Southern Heritage in Pelham.  The wake will begin at 1 p.m. and the funeral at 3 p.m.

    The Birmingham City School board has amended their uniform policy for the upcoming school year. Students will now have the option to adhere to a school dress code or wear a school uniform. According to the board's Policy Committee, teachers and administrators are spending valuable time making sure students are adhering to the uniform policy.
