Minor High School football game moved due to field issues

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Students will be celebrating homecoming tonight at Minor High School, but this week's heavy rains are forcing the tigers from their home field to Birmingham Southern College's field.

Minor High School's field has been flooded for the past three weeks. Despite repeated repair attempts, it remains unplayable.

This is the second game Minor has had to move. Losing the concession sales is hurting the band's fundraising efforts.

The Minor-Jess Lanier game takes place Thursday night at seven at Birmingham Southern. Only one thousand tickets are available for sale at each school. Jefferson County school officials are warning fans to make sure and buy tickets at one of those schools before the game. You will not be allowed on Birmingham Southern's campus unless you already have a ticket.
