Rainy weather means a lot of leaky roofs

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - What seems like a never-ending rainfall is wreaking havoc on rooftops.

These are not minor problems. The heavy rainfall is causing some major repairs for many homeowners and business owners.

At Quality Architectural, Metal, and Roofing in Birmingham, the rainfall has slowed down construction work, but has kept service crews busy repairing leaks.

Schools and hospitals are among the service calls.

Experts don't recommend putting off leaks, which is what many people do.

"If they are not prevented from reoccuring then that water can cause issues lead to mold mildew inside property, " said Brian Dickerson with Quality Architectural, Metal and Roofing.

You can help prevent water from dripping into your home or business.

It is recommended that you have your roof inspected twice a year by a certified contractor.
