Monday morning a non-profit group calling themselves The Highway 160 Promise will gather at Hayden middle school to pressure the state to make improvements to Highway 160.
In November of 2007 three cheerleaders from Hayden High School were killed during an accident on the roadway.
Amy Camp is the organizer of the Highway 160 Promise and has known several people who have lost their life on the road.
In 2006 Governor Bob Riley said he would look into widening the road to make it safer.
The state department of transportation is currently working on the area of the road where the cheerleaders died. The state is building guardrails to better protect traffic.
Camp wants the state to improve the entire roadway. Camp is calling for the road to be widened, more shoulders on the road, and more traffic signals.
If you would like to attend the event Monday morning it begins at seven o'clock at Hayden Middle School.
