Race for the Cure beats the weather

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Downtown Birmingham turned pink this morning as thousands showed up to run in this year's Race for the Cure.  The wet weather didn't dampen the mood of runners as they lined up, many in ponchos, to help raise money for breast cancer research.

Final numbers weren't in just yet, but organizers say they a raised a little less than a million for the 5K run/walk.

They also held a 1K walk for the kids and their parents.
