BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Jefferson County Judge makes a decision about the future of Club Zen, which is the Birmingham nightclub where a fatal stabbing took place earlier this year.
Jefferson County Judge Houston Brown sided with Club Zen and its attorneys, saying the city could take no further action against the club or police officers who might work there off-duty.
Birmingham city councilors voted unanimously back on September 22nd to revoke the club's business license, which would essentially shut the club down. Judge Brown's ruling also states that the club's owner, Adam Townsend, would be harmed both personally and financially in Zen was shut down permanently.
The order becomes effective as soon as Zen's attorney posts a $1,500 bond. Thost attorneys tell FOX6 News that they plan to pay that bond first thing Monday.
