Woman doused with gasoline and allegedly set ablaze by boyfriend

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A Tuscaloosa County woman is in the burn unit in Birmingham after being allegedly set on fire by her boyfriend.

Around midnight on Hargrave Road in Tuscaloosa County, 47-year-old Clayton Flemming got into an argument with his 46-year-old girlfriend. During the argument, investigators say Flemming doused his girlfriend with gasoline and set her on fire.

The woman went to a neighbor's for help and the fire department responded.

Flemming was captured a short distance away. He is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on an attempted murder charge.

Police are not releasing the victim's name or her current condition.
