Former Tuscaloosa police officer arrested for sodomy

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - A former Tuscaloosa police officer was arrested this week on charges of abusing a girl under the age of 12.

Issac "Andy" Baker was arrested Wednesday after a grand jury indicted him on two counts of sodomy.

Authorities said Baker abused a girl under the age of 12 within the past year.  The family of the girl notified authorities in May.

Investigators said the reported abuse happened at Baker's home where his wife ran a daycare.

Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steven Anderson said Baker retired from the police department in 2000 after serving as a patrol officer for 25 years.
