BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A sinkhole has developed near Interstate 20/59 and Arkadelphia Road. The hole is 12-15 feet in diameter, according to Brian Davis, an engineer with the Alabama Department of Transportation.

"It's not causing any traffic problems right now," Davis said. "But something has to be done about it immediately."

The hole is on the northbound side of I-20/59 and west of Arkadelphia Road, which could effect traffic coming into to Birmingham from places such as Fairfield, Pleasant Grove, Bessemer and Tuscaloosa.
