Shelby County woman arrested on Conspiracy to Commit Murder charge

COLUMBIANA, AL (WBRC) - A Shelby County woman remains behind bars after being accused of giving a woman prescription drugs so she would help kill her ex-husband.

Barbara Louise Patterson of Columbiana has been charged with one count of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Prosecutors say Patterson gave 42-year-old Kimberly Dawn McGuffie an antidepressant prescription drug to combine with other drugs.

McGuffie was arrested last week and charged with hiring what she thought was a hit man and providing him with drugs to slip into her ex-husband's drink.
