BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The Birmingham police are on the scene of what they say is a homicide investigation.
Police say that 49-year-old Clarence Bandy was killed at 1812 13th Way Southwest around 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
On Friday morning, police responded to a report of a deceased person. Officers found Bandy in a shed behind the residence, suffering from a head wound. He would be later pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel.
Investigators are reporting that the man was struck in the head by an unknown weapon.
Neighbors and friends of the victim gathered around his home on Friday. Many in the crowd stated that Bandy was very friendly and did not bother anyone in the community.
Currently, police are waiting to the results of the investigation. So far, the case is classified as a homicide.
