BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy will be returning to Birmingham.
In early August, Scrushy was found liable for massive fraud inside of the HealthSouth Corporation. Judge Allwin Horn ordered that Scrushy's personal assets could be seized to repay investors.
Plaintiffs' attorneys for HealthSouth investors asked to bring Scrushy back to Birmingham to answer questions about his finances. They say Scrushy has not answered their questions about his finances and they want him brought back to Birmingham to be questioned.
Scrushy's attorneys argued that he can provide information from prison and there is no need for him to return.
On Thursday morning, Judge Horn decided that Scrushy should return to Birmingham for a deposition to find out more on his missing finances.
