United Way hopes to raise $32 million dollars

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Hundreds turned out to help the United Way kick off its Fall 2009 Campaign. United Way of Central Alabama hopes to raise over $32 million dollars this year.

Campaign coordinator Charles Caldwell says this year will be critical. Still the agency's board of directors decided to keep their fundraising goal at the same level as last year. The money would come from a 5-county area including Jefferson, Shelby, Walker, Blount and St. Clair counties.

Caldwell encouraged those who are doing well to consider others and give what they can.
