LaPierre sentencing date announced

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Mayor Larry Langford's co-defendant in a federal corruption case will be sentenced November 19 in Birmingham's federal courthouse.

He faces up to 8 years in prison.

LaPierre pleaded guilty last month to criminal conspiracy and filing a false tax return.

He admitted to funneling money from Bill Blount, an investment banker, to then Jefferson County Commissioner Larry Langford

Mayor Langford and Bill Blount's trial starts August 31st.
