Murder case sent to grand jury

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The case of two men accused of robbing and shooting a Fairfield Jewelry store owner has been bound over to a grand jury.

Edward Morsby the third and Perry Cauthen Jr. are both charged with capitol murder. During Thursday's preliminary hearing, lead detective Michael Erby testified Morsby shot and killed store owner Lee Duong in the head. Following the shooting, Erby said both Morsby and Cauthen took jewelry from the store.

Police caught Cauthen at a Birmingham apartment after the shooting. Morsby was arrested in Virginia where Fairfield police say he was wearing a t-shirt that said "I'm the one that got away."
